H.E.R.O - Holistic Enterprise Realising Opportunities

H.E.R.O. is an enterprise education project specifically for Blackpool, funded by L.E.G.I (Local Enterprise Growth Initiative) and working directly with Blackpool Unlimited to develop an enterprise culture amongst the young people of Blackpool.

Captain Enterprise

Developing enterprising young people requires inspirational work which will contribute to raising the aspirations  of 14-19 years olds and developing their employability skills.  The aim of the project is to contribute to improving the skills base of young people by encouraging continuing education, but also to develop the skills that employers need in their future workforce.

It is crucial that, for the project to have an impact, we develop strong private sector links and encourage industry and employer involvement.

There are a number of ways in which you and your business can have an impact on helping to shape the future workforce of Blackpool from helping us to address the lack of entrepreneurial role models for young people, to supplying us with information to develop case studies to make teaching real! With your support, young people  will have the chance to thrive and work using the skills both they and businesses need.

H.E.R.O. begins in the classrooms of Blackpool,  but its success depends on the wholehearted commitment and support of our business community, private, public and voluntary sectors - our educationalists simply cannot achieve this objective alone.
